Ground sewers

Durable pipes for sewerage

Most of us think carefully about the consumer goods we buy, but how many of us can say the same about the pipes that we install in the ground and that remain there for up to a hundred years?

Uponor has always been at the forefront of product development. New products and services are provided with almost 100 years of experience. An innovative mindset and long-term research and development have given rise to the Ultra product family consisting of three products.

  • The Ultra Classic is a smooth polypropylene sewer pipe that is superbly suited to Nordic conditions thanks to its durability.
  • Ultra Double is the best dual-wall pipe on the market for gravity sewerage: its light weight makes it quick and easy to install.
  • The Ultra Rib 2 is the safest ground sewer on the market: the resistance of its rib-stiffened pipe to abrasion and damage during handling and installation is unique.

The Ultra products are manufactured from recyclable polypropylene, which effectively withstands impacts and chemical substances. They have Nordic Poly Mark quality approval, which guarantees the products' hermetic seals, durability and overall economy.

Uponor Ultra Double

The best dual-wall pipe on the market for gravity sewerage

Safety and simplicity were key factors in the development of the Uponor Ultra Double -sewer. The solid sleeve creates a safe, sealed system. The risk of leaks is reduced when there are fewer connections and they are hermetically sealed.

The Uponor Ultra Double sewer system is quick and easy to install. The pipes have dual walls, making them lightweight and easy to handle and install. They are compatible with Uponor Ultra Rib 2 connections and Uponor's comprehensive range of chambers. The dual wall makes the pipes highly durable, and the white internal surface facilitates inspection and imaging.

The Uponor Ultra Double sewer system meets the requirements of the European standard, and it has been awarded Nordic Poly Mark approval.

Basic details

  • Material: durable and environmentally friendly polypropylene
  • Ring stiffness: SN 8
  • Impact resistance: meets Nordic Poly Mark requirements
  • Colour: red-brown exterior, white interior
  • Quality certification: EN-13476-2 and Nordic Poly Mark
  • Range: DN 200–680 mm
Uponor Ultra Rib 2

Ultra Rib 2 meets the most stringent requirements

The Uponor Ultra Rib 2 system has been designed for maximum durability and safety. The resistance of the rib-stiffened pipe to abrasion and damage during handling and installation is unique. The pipes are manufactured from recyclable polypropylene. The pipe's exterior is red-brown and the internal surface is white, facilitating the inspection and imaging of sewers.

The pipe system is intended for sites where sewers are required to be particularly reliable and durable. These includes urban areas, groundwater areas, areas with heavy traffic, areas with poor soil support and industrial sites.

The reliability of the SN 8 class system is further boosted by precisely manufactured sleeves and connections. The pipe has been designed to remain sealed and durable, even in extreme conditions. In addition to standard seals, oil-resistant seals are also available. The standard seals are manufactured from natural rubber (SBR) and the oil-resistant seals are made from nitrile rubber (NBR). The oil-resistant seals are marked with a yellow spot. The seal is installed in the second groove of the connecting end.

Basic details

  • Material: durable and environmentally friendly polypropylene
  • Ring stiffness: SN 8
  • Impact resistance: meets Nordic Poly Mark requirements

  • Range: 200–560 mm
PVC-sewer

PVC sewer system – a traditional solution for gravity sewerage

The Uponor PVC sewerpipe is used as a gravity sewer that is installed in the ground and transports wastewater and rainwater. The pipes are manufactured from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) and they have a ring stiffness class of SN 8. PVC is corrosion-resistant and effectively withstands most solvents, acids, bases and lubricants.

The identifying colour of the pipes is red-brown and they have smooth internal and external surfaces. The range includes pipes in sizes 160–630 mm, as well as the required pipe connections.
